Tap share → Copy link on the post, paste it here in Safari and tap Download. The image saves to Files → Downloads; tap Share → Save Image to add it to Photos.

Android

Copy the post link from the Instagram app, paste it here in Chrome and tap Download. The JPG is saved to Downloads and appears in your Gallery.

Windows & Mac

Copy the post URL from instagram.com, paste it here and download the full-size photo to your Downloads folder.

Image quality

Instagram doesn't publish a numeric resolution for logged-out image requests, so we take the largest image it exposes and label it “Best available”. We don't upscale or guess dimensions.

Public photos only

Only photos on public accounts are supported. Private posts and login-gated images are not accessible.

Why an Instagram photo might not download

Photos can only be saved from public posts. Private accounts, deleted or archived posts, and posts restricted in your region can't be fetched. If the post has several images, it's a carousel — every slide still downloads, one button per image. A temporary error usually means Instagram is limiting requests; try again shortly.
