Shoot and export vertical video at 1080 × 1920 px (9:16) for Reels and Stories — that is where most Facebook video is watched now. For the feed, 1080 × 1350 px (4:5) takes up the most screen space, and 1920 × 1080 px (16:9) still works for landscape and longer videos. Upload MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio.
Vertical 9:16 for Reels and Stories, 4:5 or 1:1 for the feed, 16:9 for landscape or long videos.
Use the pixel sizes below, H.264 video and AAC audio, at 30 fps or the frame rate you shot in.
Before posting, make sure captions and faces sit away from the top and bottom edges.

1080 × 1920 px. Keep text out of roughly the top and bottom 250 px, where the profile and reply bar sit.
1080 × 1350 px. Fills the most space in the mobile feed without cropping.
1080 × 1080 px. Safe for feed posts and carousel cards, which are cropped to square.
1920 × 1080 px. For horizontal and longer videos; shows smaller in a vertical feed.
MP4 (or MOV), H.264 video, AAC audio. Very large files are commonly capped around 4 GB — compress long videos before uploading.
Since mid-2025 Facebook has folded every video into Reels, whatever its length or orientation, and Meta said there is no upper length limit for Facebook reels. That is why guides that still say Reels must be under 90 seconds are out of date. Vertical 9:16 still gets the full-screen treatment; horizontal videos play inside the frame with space around them.
Meta rolls changes out gradually and limits can differ for ads, Pages and scheduled posts. The upload screen shows the crop and any length limit that actually applies to your account.
Upload at the size you shot or the exact sizes above — Facebook re-encodes everything, and upscaling a small video only makes it softer. Keep captions inside the centre of the frame. If you need a copy of a public Facebook video you have the right to use — your own Reel, for example — paste its link into the downloader above to save the original file Facebook serves.
1080 × 1920 px (9:16) for Reels and Stories; 1080 × 1350 px (4:5) for feed posts.
Meta has folded all Facebook videos into Reels and said there is no upper length limit; the old 90-second limit no longer applies. Your composer shows any limit for your account.
Yes. Upload 1920 × 1080 px (16:9); it plays as a Reel but shows smaller than vertical video.
MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio is the safest choice.
